The Philosopher's Path is the walkway along the Shirakawa canal. It is best in the spring when it is under a canopy of cherry blossoms. Along it's path are several temples and even an Emperor's tomb, although it is a challenge to find it tucked away behind some homes.
The first map shows the beginning of Philosopher's Path at Ginkakuji. The last map shows where I left the path to find the tomb of Japan's 63rd emperor, Reizei, who was emperor for only two years, from 967 to 969
