At Sennyu-ji (temple) there are more than 30 Imperial family graves. The Imperial Mausoleum, Tsukinowa no Misasagi, has graves of 14 Emperors, 5 graves holding small parts of Emperors who are buried elsewhere, and 20 graves of wives and other family members.
In the Purification Station is a stone water basin made in the shape of a chrysanthemum blossom, a symbol of the Japanese Imperial family. It has a special Japanese word, Kiku-Bashi, meaning Chrysanthemum Basin.
